"S&T Gate RUS.EU" web portal launched to aid research co-operation between the European Union and the Russian Federation

The new "S&T Gate RUS.EU" web portal aims to improve networking between the research structures of the European Union and the Russian Federation, helps to increase mutual knowledge of the various national research landscapes, and thereby to support international co-operations. The web portal thus supports the aim of the 7th EU Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development of expanding the European Research Area and intensifying collaboration with non-member countries. S&T Gate RUS.EU was launched on 1 March 2010 and is available online at www.st-gaterus.eu. 

The "S&T Gate RUS.EU" web portal

  • offers comprehensive and current information on the development of science, technology and
  • research sponsorship in the Russian Federation and in the European Union,
  • delivers detailed information about the scientific landscape in the Russian Federation
  • provides information on collaborative projects with Russia, current calls for proposals, research and sponsorship programmes, research policy developments and partner organisations,
  • contains documents, news, event announcements, links to relevant publications and co-operation agreements
  • offers an interactive event calendar
  • allows interested scientists to find Russian key scientific institutes (database) and to contact research working groups (database)
    and
  • posts at regular intervals e-Newsletters about the bilateral cooperation between the European Union and the Russian Federation.

Two e-newsletters (No.1, No.2) have been already published as a part of the comprehensive information offered by the web site. You can subscribe to the newsletter on the homepage of the web portal.

"S&T Gate RUS.EU" is part of the project "BILAT-RUS: Enhancing the bilateral S&T Partnership with the Russian Federation", which is financed by the EU Commission in the 7th Framework Programme (project no. 222618). Responsible for maintaining and managing of the web portal is the International Bureau (IB) of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) at the German Aerospace Centre (DLR).
