The DLR-PT uses so-called session cookies. Session cookies are small information units that a provider stores in the active memory of the visiting user's computer. A randomly generated, unique ID number, a so-called session ID, is stored in a session cookie. A cookie also contains information as to its origin and the period of time it is to reside on a computer. These cookies cannot store any further types of data. The session ID is used to compile orders in the shopping basket.
Other providers use permanent cookies to recognise visitors returning after a longer period of time. This type of information is stored as a text file on the hard drive of the user's computer. In contrast to this, the session cookies used by the DLR-PT are deleted as soon as you end a session.
